"Law is the king of kings."
A creation of the state, and a regulator of human behaviors, law comprises of set of rules that are
supreme in nature. As law is backed by a coercive power, everyone in the state is required
to abide by the laws of the nation compulsorily. Any action against the law would result in
punishment for the law breakers. The punishment can take in the form of fines, compensations,
imprisonment, death penalty, banishments, etc., depending upon the type of crime
committed. It is uniform and stable to certain degree. Law of any country holds unlimited
power over that country. The end objective of law is to regulate peace, harmony, justice and
security. As understood from the characteristics itself, law is to be followed by everyone in
the state irrespective of their gender, caste, class, position, and status. Law aims to maintain
peace, security and to provide justice. Anyone hindering its aims is a subject to punishment.
It does not spare even a king if he violates the law. "Punishment shall follow if anyone
violates law, includingthe monarch himself. A king may possess the highest authority in a
country but in the eyes of law, a king, and a general person are the same. Law works in same
way for both of them andhence, it is uniform. Law holds all the power to govern a country and
is more supreme than the king. Therefore, the supremacy of law over the powerful person of the
state, the king, makes law the king of the kings.
